Easter in Sudan

Church Wall with Crosses

Christ is Risen! Alleluia!

No more confined by time and place, he is free, at liberty in his world.

Travelling in Sudan you see much wreckage. People displaced from their homelands, forced to live in arid lands without easy access to the necessities for life to flourish. Churches and homes destroyed as an exercise of pure power and disdain for others. Avarice and hatred has dominated over the life of many.

This is man’s way. Jesus has taught us another way. We must love each other, and that is how nations will be rebuilt, that people may live in peace.

“A new commandment I give you, that you love one another. As the Father has loved Me, so have I loved you. For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son,” and this way of love is the way of life.

In Sudan the churches are still open, to celebrate Easter. Congregations have simply been told to have shorter services during this time of the virus. In Sudan they are praying for us for deliverance and health! Isn’t that amazing? That’s fellowship.

Please pray for the church in Sudan. May their Alleluia be unconfined.

Please pray for Archbishop Ezekiel and his wife Suria. One of their sons, Sila, had a serious operation this week to remove a cyst that was giving him severe headaches. Their eldest son Akila had to give blood in order for the operation to take place. This is a great challenge for their family.

He is risen indeed! Alelluia! Alelluia!
